NCAA Tournament Bracket Picks – March Madness 2012

Source: basketball.about.com by , About.com Guide

The field is set, and now the real fun begins… that most sacred of springtime rituals, “The Filling of the Brackets.” Here are my… educated guesses as to how the 2012 NCAA Tournament will play out. Feel free to use them in your office pool.

1. South Region1

John Calipari, Kentucky Wildcats2Getty Images / Streeter Lecka
The South Region features some of the top teams of the last two decades… Kentucky, Duke, UNLV, Indiana… and the 2011 National Champion Connecticut Huskies. But can anyone stop John Calipari’s latest collection of future first-round NBA draft picks?

2. West Region3

Kim English, Missouri Tigers4Getty Images / Ed Zurga

The Missouri Tigers probably thought they had locked up a number one seed by winning the Big XII Tournament. Instead, they’re a two. Kim English and his mates are fully capable of proving the selection committee made a serious mistake.

3. East Region5

Syracuse's Otto the Orange6Getty Images / Jim McIsaac

It has been a very strange year for Syracuse basketball… wouldn’t it seem appropriate to cap things with another trip to the Final Four?

4. Midwest Region Picks7

Harrison Barnes8Ezra Shaw, Getty Images
If the seeds hold – and I think they will – Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels will play a regional final game against the coach’s former employer. Awkward, huh?

5. Final Four Picks9

John Calipari has brought three different teams to the Final Four. Is this the year he finally has a chance to cut down the Nets?

In 2010/2011, the Phoenix Suns had a disappointing season, finishing with a record of 40-42 in regular season play. They were second to the Lakers in a generally dismal showing for the Pacific Division. The Suns did not make it to the playoffs.
